Our Story

"Despite their different backgrounds, both were shaped by their unique cultures and environments.."

Momoko was born and raised in Nanao, a city in the Ishikawa Prefecture of Japan, near the Sea of Japan. Lance grew up in Scotch Plains, New Jersey, a suburban town on the east coast of the USA with a close-knit community. Despite their different backgrounds, both were shaped by the unique cultures and environments of their hometowns.

Both Momoko and Lance moved to Southeast Michigan during their high school years. Momoko relocated to Ann Arbor to complete her education, while Lance settled in Rochester Hills. These moves marked significant transitions in their lives, setting the stage for their future paths to cross. Momoko and Lance both ended up at Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti. During their time there, they became acquaintances, setting the foundation for what would later become a deeper connection. Lance eventually left EMU after graduation but moved nearby, while Momoko continued her studies there. They decided to catch up as friends one day and soon realized it was actually their first date. The two decided to become a couple after falling deeply in love.

Eventually, they moved and settled near Chicago, Illinois and it was there that they decided they both wanted to be together forever.
